Portraits: country family session in new london, wisconsin

New-London-Family-Photographer-Green-Bay-Country-Rustic-Fields-Photography-Children-Kids-1 New-London-Family-Photographer-Green-Bay-Country-Rustic-Fields-Photography-Children-Kids-2We could not get enough of these cute kiddos! Isley and Chance were playful, sweet, and just excited to be taking photos at the site of their new home. The {C} Family is building their house on acres of fields, woods, and farmland in New London, Wisconsin. This made for an incredible backdrop for family strolling, wildflower picking, and sibling snuggles. As soon as we arrived, we got a tour around the area on the family ATV to check out different spots. As dad started it up, Isley hopped aboard to make sure she got an opportunity to ride the “weeeeeee!” As we cruised around the property she kept turning toward us to smile and check that we were having fun too. The session was wonderful and we even got the opportunity to snap a few Avengers themed photos at the end to highlight a favorite family interest. We’re looking forward to sharing sneaks of their beautiful album and wall art as they arrive over the next few weeks!

Weddings: kayla & zach, vintage brewers wedding at timber rattlers stadium

Brewers-Wedding-Timber-Rattlers-Stadium-Photography-Wedding-Vintage-Appleton-Doty-Park-Baseball-Neenah-Outdoors-Green-Bay1 Brewers-Wedding-Timber-Rattlers-Stadium-Photography-Wedding-Vintage-Appleton-Doty-Park-Baseball-Neenah-Outdoors-Green-Bay2I love weddings where couples take chances and plan their wedding to suit themselves (not some silly idea of what a wedding should be). This was the greatest part about Kayla and Zach’s wedding. They are big time sports fans, with Brewers baseball topping the list. When they got engaged and began to plan, it only made sense to incorporate this love of a team that bonded them together. Kayla and Zach held their wedding day on the field of the Timber Rattlers Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin. The girls were in royal blue dresses with bright yellow shoes (the vintage Brewers colors) and the guys had boutonnieres made from baseballs.

The day was filled with incredible details: a popcorn bar, stadium tickets for place-cards, and centerpieces made from worn baseballs in glass pillars. Kayla and Zach had thought of everything, and it made for the best guest experience – with surprises around every corner. (We loved it too!) After the ceremony, we spent some time photographing on the field at the stadium, and in the late afternoon, headed over to Doty Park for that warm, glowing October light that makes people like me fall in love with autumn. Congratulations to Kayla and Zach!

Portraits: family session at bayshore park, new franken

Green-Bay-Family-Photography-Fall-Photographer-Bay-Shore-Park-Kids-ChildrenI love fall. It’s always been my favorite season. I love the sound of the leaves crunching under foot, I love hot drinks with a cold chill in the air, and I love the bright colors and warm light of the midwest.  For the {P} Family’s session we had one of those amazing September days and I was happy for the excuse to spend golden hour outside.

The {P} Family is always a blast to photograph. David has ever-changing interests and is always up for any game we play (with an intoxicating giggle to fill the moments in between!)  and Everett is just the happiest little guy. He is happy to watch his big brother, happy to be exploring (wispy baby hair blowing about), and happy to be held. This family is loving and patient. Happy 1st Birthday, Everett! David, we’ll see you next time with the tickle flower!

Senior Session: dana, green bay botanical gardens

Green-Bay-Botanical-Gardens-Senior-Photos-Photographer-Preble-High-School-Senior-PortraitsI live for late summer days like the one we had for Dana’s session. These are the days where it’s warm into the evening hours, and reaches that perfect golden hour light just before sunset. Days like this make me glad my job has me outside exploring, photographing, and getting to know cool people like Dana.

Dana goes to Preble High School in Green Bay where she is involved in everything music – jazz band, pep band, and head of props for school performances (to name a few). She is funny, fashionable (I mean, check out that blush romper), and easy to get along with. It was a great experience photographing her. Enjoy your final year, Dana, and cheers to an exciting future!

Portraits: family session at fonferek glen, green bay

Fonferek-Falls-Glen-Family-Photography-Green-Bay-Photographer-Rustic-Country-Kids-ChildrenThere are many things I love about being a photographer – we spend time outside, celebrate lots of happy moments (weddings, birthdays, graduations), and we get a chance to connect with people.  Most of all I love chasing down beautiful light like this, and making images that I know will become even more meaningful as they age.  It’s a pretty special thing to be a part of capturing these memories of families together – snuggling, playing, smiling – knowing these will be the images they look back on as their family grows and changes.

If you can imagine it, the {B} Family’s session almost got rained out.  In fact we had a moment in the middle of the session with a little bit of sun and just enough of a sprinkle to make a beautiful rainbow. At moments like that you can’t help but feel glad to be where you are with all you have (especially when that includes a camera!) Cheers to the {B} Family and Happy First Birthday to baby Jackson!

Portraits: waiting for baby hazel

Outdoor maternity sessions have such a relaxed, natural quality to them. They are the perfect way to document the special time waiting for baby. We traveled out to Merrill, Wisconsin for Danielle’s maternity session where I got the opportunity to help her select outfits and accessories as we prepared for the afternoon session.  It was a gorgeous spring day (even with 18 inches of snow to contend with) and we had beautiful, bright light for our downtown locations.

Baby Hazel is expected memorial day weekend, which is an incredible blessing with both Danielle and Reggie being teachers.  They will have a whole wonderful summer to spend just the three of them creating their own little family, and starting summer traditions to build on in the years to come.  Congratulations to you both; I can’t wait to meet baby Hazel!

Hippie Capitali$t Headshots

Last week we had Robert’s branding session for his company, Hippie Capitali$t. The move toward “conscious capitalism” is built on the premise that a profitable business does not have to be selfish and unscrupulous in order to be successful, but that goodwill and social consciousness can actually help build stronger businesses.
