Weddings

Do you travel?
Yes! We love to travel. Exploring new locations is our absolute favorite because it gives us the opportunity to create really unique photos. Travel to weddings is included within a 45 mile radius of Green Bay; additional travel will be charged .50/mile. Travel beyond a 100 mile radius must include an allowance for an overnight stay. How do we book?
We would love to set up a vision meeting with you to hear all about the details you have planned and fill you in on what we’re like to work with on your wedding day. Once you decide to book we require a $1000 non-refundable retainer fee as well as a completed contract which can be submitted through digital signature.

What happens if the wedding is cancelled or the date is changed?
At the time of booking, 50% of the total wedding package is committed to us. In the unfortunate event that the wedding is canceled, that portion of your payment is non-refundable. The same will happen if the wedding is moved to an unavailable date. If the wedding is moved to date we have available, your deposit will be applied to the new date.

How long does it take to get our images back?
After the wedding it takes 8-12 weeks for your photos to be finished, depending on the season and our workload. This allows time for us to perfect light and color, do minor retouching and cropping, create black and white versions, and finish photos with our custom style. Once the images are finished, we will set up a time for you to stop by to view them, choose what to apply your print credit toward, and pick-up your usb.

Portraits

What should we wear for family photos?
Our wardrobe recommendations for family photos depends on the location and time of year, so we recommend setting up a time to chat in person about your session. But to get you started, here are some basic suggestions:

  • Avoid clothing that is overly formal and would look out of place outdoors (cocktail dresses, black pants, etc.)
  • Wear color. Stark black and white can separate you from the environment and can make you look out of place. Wearing color brings out color in your environment and gives your photos a natural look.
  • Avoid being too “matchy matchy” by choosing 3-4 colors for the group. Use a mix of patterns and solids as well as layers and accessories for each person.
  • Pay attention to shoes and socks. Although they will not show in every image, be sure that your final look is polished with socks that match pants and shoes that fit the outfit and season.

How do we book?

What time of day is best for outdoor photos?
We like to begin our sessions a few hours before sunset. Midday sun is very intense and can cause subjects to be washed out or to have harsh shadows on their faces. As we get closer to evening, the light softens which is flattering on skin and contributes to the warm, vibrant style you see in our images.

What is an “in-person viewing and ordering session”?
Each of our portrait sessions includes an in-person ordering session which means we set aside time to meet with you to reveal your session images in person. At that time we will narrow the images down to your favorites, choose your web-ready images, and decide what to apply your print credit toward, whether you’re interested in albums, wall art, prints or something else. All final purchases are made during this time so it’s important that all decision-making members of the family are present.

Do you offer maternity photography?
Yes, we do offer maternity sessions and usually suggest maternity photos at 24-34 weeks for the most flattering photos of your baby bump and to avoid being too close to your delivery date. Do you offer headshots or business photos?

Seniors

What should I wear for my senior pictures?
Our biggest suggestion is to wear what you’re comfortable in. If that is platform heels and skinny jeans, great! If it’s a spring dress and ballet flats, awesome! These photos are yours and they’re supposed to show your personality. If you are looking for a little more guidance, we do have a few basic suggestions to help keep you headed in the right direction.

Can I have a friend in my photos?
Certainly! We offer BFF Mini Sessions as an add-on option to all of our senior portrait packages. This gives you the opportunity to get a handful of photos of you and your bestie together during your senior session. Check out our “Invest” page for more details.

Can I split my session over distant locations or different seasons?
After many requests, we now offer specialty sessions for those looking to split their session between two distant locations (Green Bay and Door County are our most popular), as well as the option to split between two seasons for those of you desiring summer beach photos and fall leaves. Do you submit my yearbook photo?
Yes. At your viewing and ordering session you will select your yearbook photo. In order to prepare for this, bring along your yearbook photo guidelines and submission information. Afterwards, we will submit it directly to the school.
