Weddings: lauren & zach, meyer theatre and tundra lodge, green bay

The moment we met Lauren and Zach we knew we wanted to be a part of their wedding. They are interesting, down to earth, and fun to be around. They love dogs, music, bourbon, and the outdoors. Lauren and Zach’s wedding was such a blast for us because it was a creative challenge. The intimate Meyer Theatre ceremony meant we got to play with the drama of stage lighting; afterwards we photographed in the center of the theatre with dramatic flash and backlighting, and from there we went downtown into full sun on Washington Street, the Citydeck, and Lambeau Field. It was like photographing three short weddings in one and we are SO excited about the results!

Their reception was held at Tundra Lodge and was full of excitement with a dessert bar (including a Wisconsin Badgers cake, Lauren’s pride and joy), and dueling pianos for entertainment. They set the stage, and their guests brought the party. The dance floor was never empty and Lauren and Zach were always front and center. Congratulations, Lauren and Zach! It was our pleasure to be a part of your special day!

Portraits: spring family session on the green bay citydeck

During spring 1.0 this year (the one before stowstorm Evelyn dropped 30 inches over Northeast Wisconsin) we met up with the Ortiz family for their spring session celebrating Lizzy’s 3rd birthday and Laney’s sitting milestone. It was a sunny afternoon with beautiful waterfront views from the Green Bay Citydeck.

Laney loved being tossed in the air by daddy and snuggling against mommy. Lizzy was ready to run and play. She spotted birds and fish and wanted to be a part of every game or idea we came up with. Rachel told us that for the next few days after their session, Lizzy was practicing setting up her stuffed animals and dolls for “picture time”. Too cute!

The grass is growing and the trees are starting to bud, which means photography season is here! Looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces and growing kiddos for 2018!

Portraits: summer family session on the green bay citydeck

As a kid growing up in Door County summertime was all about being near the water – bay, lake, or river – by boat, beach, or bridge, it didn’t matter, as long as there was water. When we started planning the {D} Family’s session, we imagined waterfront and planned outfits around cool, summer tones. Isaac and Deacon were in good spirits enjoying the beautiful weather, and fun interactions with mom and dad. Some days our work feels more like play, and this was one of those days.

Happy Birthday to little brother Deacon who just celebrated his one year milestone with a cake smash (with bow-tie and birthday hat) on the Green Bay Citydeck!

Weddings: kaitlyn & elijah at elizabeth ann seton parish and ki convention center, downtown green bay

The layer of water droplets on each surface brings out the vibrancy of the leaves and gives every surface a lustrous shine. Kaitlyn and Elijah chose a blush and navy color palette for their wedding which shook up the traditional fall colors. Her bouquet was layered in pale roses, hydrangeas, and greens with a tiny pin belonging to her grandmother tucked into the stems. Their small wedding party kept the day feeling intimate and the two tiny flower girls – twirling through in umbrellas – made things feel extra festive. After the ceremony at Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, we crossed the street to He Nis Ra Park to take in all the beautiful fall color. The Citydeck downtown was our final stop, and the muted sunset was the perfect backdrop for our last few photos before the reception. At the KI Convention Center, the ballroom space was lit with a ceiling of string lights and walls decked in colored up-lighting, with the finishing piece being the custom logo of their names projected onto the wall. The evening was full of surprises, dancing, and celebration. Congratulations, Kaitlyn and Elijah!

Senior Session: tanner, citydeck & downtown green bay

He is smart, easygoing, and a natural in front of the camera. We spent his session wandering downtown Green Bay and along the Fox River waterfront. I love the rich textures of the city: brick, iron, boardwalk, and I enjoy getting to know seniors like Tanner and everything that they’re planning for their respective futures. Tanner is still deciding between colleges (although if his sister has anything to say about it, he will join the family at UW-Oshkosh). Either way, one thing is for sure, Tanner has a bright future in front of him. Congratulations and enjoy your senior year, Tanner!

Weddings: katie and tony, green bay citydeck

Green-Bay-Wedding-Photographer-Citydeck-Church-Lambeau-Field1 Green-Bay-Wedding-Photographer-Citydeck-Church-Lambeau-Field2Weddings are about two people celebrating who they are as a couple, and for a couple like Katie and Tony, that means fun. It means teasing each other during pictures, dancing to 90’s boybands, and even running through the Citydeck fountain. If Katie and Tony could teach a lesson to anyone, it would be not to take ourselves so seriously, to plan what you can, but when the time comes, be there – completely in the moment with the people you value most.

It was wonderful to be a part of Katie and Tony’s day, location-hopping from the Green Bay Citydeck to Lambeau Field, to the Ravine, with little surprises around every corner (including a pretty great glowstick grand march!) Far too many favorites to even choose! Congratulations, Katie and Tony! Keep bringing the fun!

Portraits: the {k} family on the green bay citydeck

Green_Bay_Citydeck_November_Family_Photos_StudioWe love getting to see the {K} Family for their sessions every few months (we also love that Carter does a little “happy dance” at the announcement of picture day!)  Crystal always has fun and interesting ideas for their sessions and an overall vision which I love to hear.  Last year’s family photos were done with a very warm, colorful fall look, so this year we decided to go with a cool, more neutral palette and have the session on the beautiful Green Bay Citydeck.  Being a downtowner myself, I love any excuse to have sessions near the Fox River.

We held the session in early November which made for the most incredible light, but it also meant that we had some chilly temperatures to contend with.  We spent a little time getting family photos outdoors and headed into the studio for the rest of the shots.  Carter and Morgan did a great job outdoors, but I think they were extra happy to go inside where it was warm (the toys and blocks may have had something to do with it too).  We love getting to know our clients personally and we love getting to try new things – it’s so wonderful when those things come together. 🙂

Portraits: sweetpeas clothier, green bay citydeck

Green Bay_Infant_Child_Citydeck_Downtown_PhotographySweetpeas promotional photoshoots are always such a blast because we have the opportunity to choose new locations and hand-select all the outfits and accessories.  Being downtowners, the Green Bay Citydeck was a natural choice for our fall photoshoot with our models Evy and Stella.  We had beautiful, bright light coming across the water and two happy little girls to work with.  Most of the outfits seen here are made by Everbloom or Tea, and all clothing and accessories are available for purchase at Sweetpeas Clothier in De Pere.  And if you have a little girl of your own, I don’t know how you could resist that adorable white tutu!
