50th Anniversary Photos

Pat and Dayton planned this family session in celebration on their 50th wedding anniversary. They wanted to gather their children and grandchildren together for a nice shot of everyone together, and in the process we also got fun photos of the grandkids together, pictures of them with their three children, and breakdown photos of each family individually. The evening light was perfect and the weather couldn’t have been better at our location at Green Isle Park!

The {H} family is so wonderfully welcoming and Pat and Dayton are full of travel plans and interesting stories. When scheduling when they would like to pick up their album and wall art, we were working around a flight to Ireland, a cruise to Puerto Rico, and a weekend in the northwoods. This family knows what’s important and they make it happen. Congratulations, Pay and Dayton, on 50 years together and cheers to all the big things ahead!

Green Isle Park Spring Family Photos, Green Bay, Wisconsin

Green Bay Family Photographers Green Bay Family PicturesJust a few weeks before this session there was a foot of snow on the ground as Courtney and Tanner celebrated their engagement. Now, in March, we celebrate their family! This was Ainsely’s first official portrait session and she did a great job! Baxter (the first baby) was also included in the session and brought extra joy and energy to the scene. The four of them are so sweet and we were blessed with such lovely spring weather and bright sunshine. Happy babies and a happy families make for beautiful photos that make our hearts happy! (Be sure to check out Courtney and Tanner’s Engagement and stay tuned for wedding photos next year!)

Portraits: green isle park spring maternity session, waiting for baby {j}

When Ashley and Jesse got married two years ago, we were there for their wedding day. We also had the privilege of taking their engagement photos that May in an orchard full of apple blossoms. This winter they’re celebrating a new milestone as they wait for their baby boy due next month.

When Ashley contacted me about her February session, we planned for a “winter wonderland” theme. Imagining layers of snow, and heavy branches in one of the coldest months, we were surprised as the date came closer and the forecast was in the mid-sixties. Wisconsin weather is always out to surprise us! The warm, sunny day was beautiful. Ice still coated the East River, but little buds were on the trees, and the creamy long grasses made for a beautiful spring backdrop. How perfect for the world to be in a season of renewal as Ashley and Jesse await their first baby.

Congratulations! We look forward to meeting him!

May brings blooming trees, bright green hues, and long beautiful evenings like this one. The {M} Family planned their session in celebration of little Asher turning six months old, but it also made a great opportunity for family photos, portraits of the older kiddos, and a few special mommy/daddy photos with baby number three. There was time spent adventuring into the long grasses, snuggling baby brother, and playing games. Asher is happy and easygoing no matter the situation and he is completely enamored with his big sister. Kendall is smart, funny, and quick to pick up on everything around her, and Trent is playful, sweet, and an absolute ham for the camera. All three did a great job for their session and we had a wonderful evening in the park together!

Green-Bay-Family-Photography-Green-Isle-Park-Fall-Photographer-Kids-ChildrenEvelyn was one of the first newborns we ever photographed. As she grows up (and her family gets bigger too) it’s such a pleasure to continue to photograph she and her baby sister Stella. The {T} Family is wonderful; they are fun, relaxed, and always playful with their girls. This session was the first that the four of them have been outdoors for a session together, and what better setting than a park, where there is room to run, bridges to climb, and mischief to be made. We had a blast teasing and tickling the girls, and photographing on one of the few fall days that was sunny and warm. Until next time, little blondies!

Weddings: emily and kyle, resurrection church, green bay

Green-Bay-Wedding-Photographer-Fall-Autumn-September-Resurrection-Church-Green-Isle-Park1 Green-Bay-Wedding-Photographer-Fall-Autumn-September-Resurrection-Church-Green-Isle-Park2I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a couple as happy and carefree on their wedding day as Emily and Kyle. Years into their relationship, they are still in that head-over-heels, completely smitten state of new romance (and it is incredibly sweet to witness.)  Emily is a talented musician and the organist at Resurrection Church where she and Kyle got married. Years ago, as she played the music for our wedding, she told me that someday Ben and I would be there to witness and document her own special day.  She was right, and it was beautiful.

The church was decorated with vases and flower arrangements staggered at various heights down the aisle. The ceremony was filled with all kinds of music, many singers and instruments, and surprise moments (like Emily stepping up to perform the organ herself!)  The bouquet and fresh flower crown were my favorite details chosen by the couple – wild and organically styled – I especially loved winding branches and succulents. It is so wonderful to see special people like Emily find the person they have been waiting for, and even more wonderful to be a part of their wedding day.  Congratulations, Emily and Kyle!!!

One_Year_Photos_Green_Isle_Park_Outdoor_Family_PhotosFall in Wisconsin is always a gamble – it could be sunny and 60; it could be 30 with high winds.  We were incredibly lucky to have a beautiful sunshine-filled day for Ryan’s one year session.  He was all smiles an excitement, and although he needed a little break in the middle, he came back 100% happy and ready to play.  It’s a good reminder that the kiddos make the rules and sometimes a little nap and snack is the next thing on the agenda.  I love fall photos, and I especially love days that give us this warm, dreamy light that we got for Ryan’s session.  It has been so special to watch him grow from only a few days old to the walking, running, tough little redhead he is today.  Happy First Birthday, Ryan!

We first met the {K} family for their son, Carter’s one year photos.  Now, two years later, it is little Morgan’s turn.  With a spring Birthday here in Wisconsin, we were battling rain and wind, but a week later we got the perfect day.  Carter was glad for the change of date because it meant he got to join us and help steal giggles from his baby sister.  The thing I love most about Morgan is that she is full of so many expressions.  In the smallest moment she can go from the most serious, engaged, thoughtful face, to a big, bright smile.

It has been such a pleasure to work with the {K} family for so many wonderful sessions: milestone sessions, mini sessions, even a little modeling.  Photographing them regularly has given us a close relationship and allowed us to create photos that fit their family personally.  Happy Birthday, little Morgan!
