Weddings: cora & eric, olde 41 vandervest, green bay

Cora and Eric’s wedding is one that I have just been bursting at the seams to share! We loved everything about it – the soft lavender bridal gowns, outdoor ceremony along Duck Creek, and all the little details (like the succulent takeaway gifts!) From the moment we arrived that morning it was clear how much time and heart Cora and Eric put into planning their wedding day.

Both the ceremony and reception were held at Olde 41 and after a handful of pictures the bridesmaids were back inside watching guests and groomsmen arrive from the windows. After some last minute moments with mom and a beautiful ceremony, the bridal party packed into the trolly and headed for Lambeau Field. Our favorite photos were taken back at Vandervest as the golden fall light passed across the creek. Cora and Eric are so sweet together and we loved capturing how they care for one another. Congratulations, Cora and Eric! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!

Weddings: sarah & curtis, chateau de pere first look & backyard wedding, de pere wisconsin

Sarah and Curtis planned their backyard wedding all the way from Fountain, Colorado, and still every detail was attended to. The couple got ready at Chateau De Pere, and their first look to place on the docks of the riverwalk. The day was warm and sunny, and they could not have looked any happier to see one another. Sarah’s hair was pulled back in a classic bun with tiny pearl details and an elbow length veil, which gave a midcentury modern look to her knee-length dress. The wedding ceremony was held in in the afternoon in her parents backyard with a view of the Fox River, and was officiated by Curtis’s brother. The entire day had personal touches like these, and it made for an intimate celebration that was all about family and togetherness.

As dinner was winding down, the sky outside the tent began to darken a bit. No sooner had the sides been put up along the tent, and we were in a full blown thunderstorm. Guests enjoyed their yummy dessert protected from the rain, but as strong winds threatened the tent, everyone quickly made their way indoors. Breathless and smiling, Sarah and Curtis were laughing as their family handed out towels to dry off their damp guests. It was the perfect day that ended in the most memorable night! Congratulations, Sarah and Curtis!

The day was filled with many little details that had their personal touches on them: birch ring boxes made by the groom, seasonal flowers arranged by the bridal party, and the most beautiful arbor for the ceremony. Holly and Alex got ready for the day in the residential portion of Barnsite in Kewanee, meeting downstairs for a first look. They had a moment together before photos followed by an intimate outdoor ceremony under the cover of old shade trees. The afternoon was filled with a ceremonial beer tapping, yard games, and a build-your-own taco bar. By evening the sun began to get golden and the four of us made our way to Lake Michigan for some waterfront photos of just the two of them – happily married and so thankful for such a beautiful day. Congratulations, Holly and Alex!

Weddings: jenessa & joe at green bay botanical gardens

Jenessa was one of the first seniors we photographed as Ben and I were just starting our business post-college. Things have circled back and we were able to photograph her next milestone as she married her best friend, Joe, late this June. Jenessa is kind-hearted and bubbly, and in Joe she has found someone just as caring and fun-loving. Their wedding was on one of the hottest days this summer and yet everyone was in the best spirits, happy to be celebrating together at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. The ceremony was held in the Oval Garden in the afternoon and the reception followed at Green Bay Distillery with everything decorated in shades of aqua and coral. We loved the colorful details and Jenessa’s beautiful corseted gown, but most of all we loved how much energy and excitement their friends and family brought to the event (including on the dance floor!) Congratulations, Joe and Jenessa!

Weddings: kayla & zach, vintage brewers wedding at timber rattlers stadium

This was the greatest part about Kayla and Zach’s wedding. They are big time sports fans, with Brewers baseball topping the list. When they got engaged and began to plan, it only made sense to incorporate this love of a team that bonded them together. Kayla and Zach held their wedding day on the field of the Timber Rattlers Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin. The girls were in royal blue dresses with bright yellow shoes (the vintage Brewers colors) and the guys had boutonnieres made from baseballs.

The day was filled with incredible details: a popcorn bar, stadium tickets for place-cards, and centerpieces made from worn baseballs in glass pillars. Kayla and Zach had thought of everything, and it made for the best guest experience – with surprises around every corner. (We loved it too!) After the ceremony, we spent some time photographing on the field at the stadium, and in the late afternoon, headed over to Doty Park for that warm, glowing October light that makes people like me fall in love with autumn. Congratulations to Kayla and Zach!

Weddings: jessie and jerry at botanical gardens, green bay

Botanical_Gardens_Green_Bay_Outdoor_Wedding_Photography1 Botanical_Gardens_Green_Bay_Outdoor_Wedding2We have been so blessed this year to be the photographers for some very beautiful and unique outdoor weddings.  Jessie and Jerry’s gorgeous wedding celebration  at Botanical Gardens was no exception.  Jessie chose the most stunning mermaid-style gown with a low exposed back and had her hair done in a chic, classic updo.  Each detail from ceremony to reception was chosen for it’s simplicity,  style, and continuity.  The colors were deep plum and a natural khaki with lace and burlap accents.

The forecast was heavy with rain and all week we were preparing: gearing up our cameras; the bridal party was hunting down umbrellas.  The wedding included an outdoor ceremony and it was not to be missed.  The morning of the wedding, a sheet of gray clouds covered the sky, and the forecast read 85% rain all day.  As Jessie and Jerry dressed, it looked like the ceremony would be a wet one, but as the vows were read and the rings exchanged, not a drop fell.  The ceremony came to a close, and as it did, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds – a happy and welcoming symbol for Jessie and Jerry beginning the next chapter in their lives together.  Congratulations to both of you!  We were so glad to be a part of your special day!
