Senior Session: tanner, citydeck & downtown green bay

He is smart, easygoing, and a natural in front of the camera. We spent his session wandering downtown Green Bay and along the Fox River waterfront. I love the rich textures of the city: brick, iron, boardwalk, and I enjoy getting to know seniors like Tanner and everything that they’re planning for their respective futures. Tanner is still deciding between colleges (although if his sister has anything to say about it, he will join the family at UW-Oshkosh). Either way, one thing is for sure, Tanner has a bright future in front of him. Congratulations and enjoy your senior year, Tanner!

Senior Session: anthony, lambeau field & anderson dock, door county

Door-County-Senior-Photos-Anderson-Dock-Senior-Portraits-Pictures-Ephraim-Photographer-1 Lambeau-Field-Senior-Photos-Green-Bay-Packers-Senior-Portraits-Pictures-Photographer-2When you have a passion for something as great as Anthony’s passion for the Green Bay Packers, distance is no obstacle. Anthony and his father, Michael, planned Anthony’s senior photos as a destination session from their home in Minnesota. Each year the two of them travel to Lambeau for a game, and it was obvious to the two of them that Lambeau Field would be the perfect location for Anthony’s class photos. I loved the idea of a destination senior session, and we began planning for the two day event with part of the session on the waterfront in Ephraim. Both days had gorgeous, warm weather and we loved getting to know Anthony and his family! Congratulations, Anthony, enjoy your senior year!

Senior Session: nic, bairds creek green bay

Green-Bay-Bairds-Creek-Senior-Photos-Photographer-East-High-School-Senior-Portraits-Fall-Autumn-WoodsThis year’s late fall meant good things for us photographers, including beautiful color like this through the very last days of October. This worked out great for Nic’s senior session as he was looking for autumn photos in the woods. Nic is an avid hiker and he loves Baird’s Creek in Green Bay for the trails and scenery. We started out photographing a few places we were very familiar with, but then went on to explore extra trails that were new to us and known well by Nic. It felt more like a casual October hike (with camera gear of course!) than a typical senior session. Just another time I was grateful that being a photographer means spending time outside on the best days of the year.

I absolutely love the rich orange and brown tones we got a chance to capture for Nic’s session. I’ve always been a sucker for fall, and it might have something to do with the fact that days like this one – calm, warm, filled with bright color – only happen a few days out of the year. Enjoy your final year, Nic!

Senior Session: dana, green bay botanical gardens

Green-Bay-Botanical-Gardens-Senior-Photos-Photographer-Preble-High-School-Senior-PortraitsI live for late summer days like the one we had for Dana’s session. These are the days where it’s warm into the evening hours, and reaches that perfect golden hour light just before sunset. Days like this make me glad my job has me outside exploring, photographing, and getting to know cool people like Dana.

Dana goes to Preble High School in Green Bay where she is involved in everything music – jazz band, pep band, and head of props for school performances (to name a few). She is funny, fashionable (I mean, check out that blush romper), and easy to get along with. It was a great experience photographing her. Enjoy your final year, Dana, and cheers to an exciting future!

Senior Session: hope, cave point and pebble beach

Cave-Point-Senior-Photos-Door-County-Photographer-Pebble-Beach-Senior-Portraits-Green-BaySo often we have these confusing Wisconsin weather days, where the percentage of rain jumps up and down, patchy showers are forecasted, and we’re not sure if we should call off our session. On lucky days, we make the drive anyway and are rewarded with dissipating clouds, warm, even light, and on the best days (like at this session) a dreamy pink sunset to finish things off.

Hope’s session took place in Door County, where she attends Gibraltar High School and excels in the arts. We started off at Cave Point for photos up in the woodsy escarpment, followed by a few dance themed shots as the waves crashed up on the shore around her (photos of this coming soon!) Part two of the session was at Pebble Beach in Sister Bay with a gorgeous view of the bay and an opportunity to snag a few sister shots.  Hope is incredibly creative, fun, and spontaneous. We are excited to see what she does with her many talents, and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph her senior session. Cheers to a great final year!

Senior Session: maggie, cave point door county

Door_County_Senior_Photos_Golden_Light_Modeling_Cave_PointI have had the pleasure of knowing Maggie for years.  She is genuine, caring, and incredibly talented.  The world is a more beautiful place because of the way her curiosity delves into it, turns it over, and yearns to discover more.  Being asked to document Maggie’s senior year was special to Ben and I – showing this moment she is in, as she decides what she wants to do and where to go next.

We had beautiful light as we photographed at Cave Point and a field north of Sturgeon Bay.  Maggie and her sister Juliana played around, joked, and even did a little dancing, which kept the session fun and relaxed.  We ventured into tall grass and down rocky cliff edges all with the spirit of playfulness and the goal of creating beautiful images of someone special.  Enjoy your senior year, Maggie!
