Fall Senior Photos at the Arboretum Trail and Along Nicolet Drive, Green Bay

Most senior portrait sessions take place in summer. It’s the “traditional season” to have your senior photographed just before they enter their final year of high school. But sometimes we get to take senior photos on a frozen lake in winter, or at an apple orchard during spring bloom, or along the UWGB Arboretum Trail at the peak of fall color. That was this session.

When Conrad and his family planned their session, they knew they wanted to do the UWGB campus as it’s only minutes from their home and where they often went on family walks when Conrad and his sister were young. They envisioned the bridge and the leaves. As a UWGB grad myself, I remember long afternoon painting classes held outside on the Shorewood Golf Course, learning to capture the light and color of the giant maple trees, and thought that would be a perfect stop on our way off campus.

For the second location, Denise asked if we would photograph at their home along the bay of Green Bay at the north end of the city. I shared previous sessions we’d photographed along the waterfront, and we were more than excited to get a tour of their docks, rocky shoreline, and hear of all their kayaking and boating adventures (and misadventures!)

In fall sunset light shifts a bit. It appears in a different part of the sky and the day ends earlier, of course, but the color also changes. Fall light is warmer, and the sunsets, more orange. This was in beautiful contrast to the blue of the Bay and crisp clean gray of the shoreline. Sessions like this are an absolute joy! Congratulations, Conrad, and best wishes on all your future adventures!
