Backyard Wedding, De Pere

Paul and Terri tied the knot in summer of 2020 with a dreamy backyard wedding along the Fox River, followed by a bigger celebration in 2021. As it was peak covid for their wedding ceremony, a few things were different. One of them being that they stopped to visit Terri’s mother in her retirement home before going home to host their nuptials.

In the initial plans, she would be able to join them for the ceremony, but if you remember covid early days, there was a strict “no one in or out policy” in retirement communities. It felt both heartbreaking and incredibly touching to watch them greet each other through glass, talking over speakerphone, with her mom giving advice and support. Moments like this are so incredibly important and the magic of getting to be the one behind the camera will never not be impressed upon me.

Fox River Wedding Photography

Paul and Terri had just finished building a new home in a community right along the Fox River in De Pere. The space was sleek and modern, packed with art, and with the most beautiful outdoor space in the backyard (the perfect addition for their doggy!) The guest list was small and everyone remained masked while not eating or being photographed, and even in the photos you’ll see hand sanitizing stations and places to replace your masks.

After the ceremony, we took a little walk through the beautiful gardens and down to the docks along the river. We captured photos with Terri and Paul, as well as his three beautiful daughters. I cannot say enough about this group of people as they are just as kind and welcoming as you would imagine based on the photos. Congratulations, Terri and Paul. Wishing you many years of happiness!
