A baby on the way means a lot of things: preparing the nursery, attending appointments, waiting and worrying and anticipating. When it’s the last baby in the family, I think parents feel all these things even stronger.
Green Bay Maternity Photographer
Baby Olivia was the last to arrive and complete her family of five. This precious time of waiting felt even more important knowing she would be the last baby. Having had my last baby around this same time, I had such similar feelings: every little thing felt so big — the 20 week appointment milestone, finding out their sex, and of course, maternity photos.
Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve Photos
We’ve taken Rachel and John’s photos each year for the past nine years, so we are always thinking of new locations to give each session a distinct mood. Green Bay and Door County have so many different locations to offer and we’ve gone everywhere from Potawatomi Park to Algoma Beach to Botanical Gardens together. Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve is not often thought of for photos which makes it a fun photo destination by those burnt out on the more “obvious” choices. And in all this time photographing their family, this is one of my favorite sessions.
Family Photos in Green Bay, Wisconsin
Barkhausen is full of trails and bridges, cabins and tall grasses, and a beautiful pond backed by woodsy tree-line, made all the more dramatic and moody in the fall light. I love how that warm late October light gave their images a glowing backlit effect. It felt like all the warmth and drama of bringing a new baby into the world. Welcome home, Olivia!
