Green Bay Senior Photos
When Simone and her mom schedule time to meet and chat about photos, I was immediately invested. They talked about Simone’s love of vintage things and how she feels like a person out of time. We came up with lots of different “retro” directions we could go in — 1920s art nouveau architecture, 1980s arcade vibes, and settled on vintage neon and Coney Island Amusement Park energy.
Nature Senior Photos, Green Bay
The first part of Simone’s session was more general. We chose a location with woodsy elements and wildflowers as she wanted sort of a boho/hippie look. Then we moved on to Bay Beach Amusement Park (the Coney Island of Green Bay, Wisconsin!) where we got popcorn and cotton candy for some lifestyle/vibey shots, then stuck around for the real fun at twilight.
Green Bay Night Neon Senior Photos
Simone expressed that she was up to try anything and all she wanted was for these photos to be as unique as possible. We ran with that! Just as the sun went down, we took a few photos with dragged shutters to capture the smeary movement of the crowd as well as the neon swaths of the ride lights moving faster than our camera. Then we added in some flash gels and took some editorial photos with lots of drama.
One of my favorite things about photographing senior sessions is that they can be as original as the person in the photos. We’re always excited about new locations or testing the limits of our gear (even if we’re setting up flash gels at 9:00 pm while a crowd gathers!) I think it’s safe to say no one else has senior photos like Simone’s.
