I love when couples who have been together a long time choose to have couples photos done. So often we make ourselves wait for a big milestone in order to “deserve” great pictures.

A portrait session all about you? Not until you graduate. A nice updated headshot? Not until you land a great job. A session with the person you love? Not until there’s a ring on it. Instead of waiting for milestones to tell us we can have something, What if we were like Nicole and Kyle and simply celebrated exactly where we are right now?

That’s what led Kyle and Nicole to book a session with us. In our time together, we captured couples photos of the two of them as well as family pictures with their pets (her cat and his dog), and even updated a few headshots. The apple blossoms were at their absolute peak, and although the skies threatened storms, they held off until late that evening and gave us nothing but clean, bright light.

Celebrating the love stories of couples is a wonderful experience for us. Sometimes we treat weddings as the “arriving point” for a couple and it causes us to miss all the good that comes before and after (or even without). Their story is in progress; just like all of us. <3
