Jackie and I have been best friends since third grade. Before we even met we knew of each other because teachers would confuse us and use one another’s names (we had matching jackets to make recess extra confusing). Once we did meet, we were inseparable, and we did all our growing up together. I am incredibly blessed to have friends like this – people who live many miles away, and somehow still know me better than anyone else. These are the friends who can ask the tough questions and give the real answers because everything (everything!) is done out of love.
When friends like this have something to celebrate – a career accomplishment, a new home, an engagement – it is felt personally. All I can wish, for those I love best, is a partner who brings out the good and inspires them to try new things and face challenges, scary as they may be. I am so happy that Jackie has found this in Mike.
This spring I will be there to celebrate Jackie and Mike’s wedding day in style (dress and heels vs. camera strap and flats) but before then I wanted an opportunity to use my camera to show their love for one another, and in turn, my love for them.  For their engagement session we had the most stunning fall day that finished with a bright sunset. It involved autumn trees, the Wisconsin state capitol, and a halo of diamonds surrounding an heirloom diamond close to Jackie’s heart. It was them in their city, and those are the best love stories of all. Congratulations, Jackie and Mike!
