The days are long, but the years are short
We know how hectic parenting can be. From sleep deprivation during the baby stage to tantrums during the toddler stage and the stubbornness of growing up – we’ve been there.
We know from parenting our own littles that even on the hardest days there are little flashes of magic. These moments have us forgetting whatever challenge we are currently battling and instead soak in the love of our family.
This is what family photography should do: show what it feels like to be in that magic.

Your Family, Your Photos
For your family photo session, we’re inviting you to step out of the busyness of your everyday life to capture the playful expressions and real moments that make up childhood, all while feeling confident and beautiful in your roles as a parent.
Your experience should be relaxed and your photos should feel like your family.
This is our mission and we’re here to make it happen.

frequently asked questions about family portraits
What should we wear for family photos?
Our wardrobe recommendations for family photos depend on the location and time of year, so we recommend setting up a time to chat in person about your session.
But to get you started, here are some basic suggestions:
- Avoid clothing that is overly formal and would look out of place outdoors (cocktail dresses, black pants, etc.)
- Wear color. Stark black and white can separate you from the environment and can make you look out of place. Wearing color brings out the color in your environment and gives your photos a natural look.
- Avoid being too “matchy-matchy” by choosing 3-4 colors for the group.
- Use a mix of patterns and solids as well as layers and accessories for each person.
- Pay attention to shoes and socks. Although they will not show in every image, be sure that your final look is polished with socks that match pants and shoes that fit the outfit and season.
How do we book?
We would love to set up a time to meet virtually and chat about what you’re looking for in your session.
At that time we can plan for clothing, location, and dates.
Once you decide to book we require a $100 non-refundable retainer fee as well as a completed contract which can be submitted through digital signature. Your remaining balance will be due at the start of your session.
What time of day is best for outdoor photos?
We like to begin our sessions a few hours before sunset.
Midday sun is very intense and can cause subjects to be washed out or to have harsh shadows on their faces. As we get closer to evening, the light softens which is flattering on the skin and contributes to the warm, vibrant style you see in our images.
