Most of what we photograph happens between May and November, because, well, Wisconsin. But babies come when they want to come, which means maternity sessions are year-round, and we love an opportunity to get out in the freshly fallen snow!

Outdoor Snow Photos in Winter

Katelyn and Aaron imagined a dreamy winter wonderland for their session here in Green Bay, and after brainstorming what a January session could look like for their baby due in March, we settled on a location filled with evergreens and log cabins. Just before the session (and a bit into the session!) we got a heap of snow, which made trekking around the area a bit more challenging, but Katelyn made it look effortless in her chic, green sweater dress.

We sent Katelyn and Aaron our best tips for winter photos to prevent pink hands and noses, wet feet, and an overall miserable experience. We worked quickly and offered “warm up breaks” to keep everyone comfortable. I love the cozy little photos we made, which feel so much like the nesting experience of waiting for your first little one to arrive. <3
