My favorite thing about modern weddings is that they don’t have to follow a script. You get to decide who will be there, what you will wear, where it will happen, and all the little details. That’s what makes Laura and Cory’s wedding so great! They created their wedding out of thin air, centered around who they are as a couple and how they like to spend their time.
Outdoor Winter Wedding in Wisconsin
Laura and Cory got married in February in front of a little retro resort in Laona (Northern Wisconsin for those not in the know). The lake had frozen straight across and the ceremony was held out on the ice. Cory and his family have a cabin nearby that they love to spend time at year round and the snowmobile trails lead directly to Johnnie’s Resort. The guys got ready at the cabin and the ladies, at the resort. Then Cory and his men dressed in their best Ski-Doo thermals and snowbibs and hopped on their sleds to meet Laura for their first look on the ice.
Snowmobile Themed Wedding, Northern Wisconsin
Guests arrived on their own sleds to mix and mingle, warming up in the bar. Then at ceremony time, snowmobiles parked in two rows to create an isle for Laura and her father. The sky was the deepest blue, the sun shone, and the weather was mild. Everyone was in the best spirits, laughing and celebrating throughout the day and into the evening! The reception was held at Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel where more family and friends gathered to wish the couple well. Congratulations to Laura and Cory!
