We photographed the Nelson family’s photos in 2021 with a rustic, wintery photoshoot and two years later they sent us an email to schedule Connor’s senior photos. It’s wild how fast time goes as a parent!

Peninsula State Park Family Photos

The Nelson family is from Allouez and Connor attends Notre Dame High School, but the family spends a lot of time in Door County and chose a destination session for Connors senior pictures. When choosing between late summer and fall, they ended up choosing October to capture iconic Door County fall color. We started on Nicolet Beach in Peninsula State Park with family photos along the water, followed by casual photos of Connor solo highlighting the rustic fall color.

Eventually we made the drive to downtown Fish Creek for more dressed up photos in front of the cute little shops and along the waterfront. We were even lucky enough to get a moody pink and blue sky (my favorite kind of sunset!)

Fish Creek Senior Photos

Senior photos are such a pivotal time not only in the senior’s life, but in the whole family’s life. When the first kid is close to graduating, it often means leaving home, establishing life in a new city, and sometimes serious partners joining. Because of this, we offer the option to add on family mini sessions to any senior session and I always encourage this!

The Nelson family had their photos done just two years before, but even in that short of time their children changed so much, and it was a great way to get an updated photo for their wall and a few extras for their Christmas cards while Connor was still at home. I’m so happy we got to be a part of making these images!
