I have always loved trains. I’m not exactly sure where the fascination comes from (my best guess is that it’s a mix of mid-century nostalgia and unquenchable wanderlust). Regardless, I was thrilled when Meagan suggested the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay as the location for their family session. As it turns out little Rowan also loves trains!
Our session took place the week after the first big snowstorm hit Wisconsin, leaving it under a blanket of white. Rowan and Hawthorn were both excited to explore the train museum, climbing inside the engines to see how things worked. We photographed the family out front in the frosty landscape, then spent some time inside with the boys as they discovered all there was to see in their very first visit. As the sun began to go down, we snagged a few more moments outdoors in the beautiful, evening light. This family is always a joy to photograph – so much love and so much play!
