Door County Photographers
Door County was my first home and that means I have many favorite places to visit, and some special spots that aren’t as popular to share with clients who have never been. One of the most underrated natural areas in the peninsula (in my humble local opinion) is Potawatomi State Park in Sturgeon Bay. I love hiking the Ice Age Trail there in winter, and I know how beautiful it can be as a space to camp. This is what inspired our Fireside Sessions.
Winter Snow Photography, Sturgeon Bay
The concept was build a cozy fire with hot drinks and a s’mores station, create some falling snow, and venture out on the ice. Then use my old “hospitality industry background” to send the couple off on the perfect date night — hooking them up with the best spa experiences, bed and breakfast, and dinner the area has to offer.

Joce and Nick were just a few short years from their wedding day, but if they knew it then they didn’t share. It was a pleasure getting to know them as a couple after knowing Jocelyn as a kiddo when we photographed her mom’s wedding years ago. You know when you meet a couple and you know they’re just right for each other. That’s what this was, and it was beautiful to witness!
