The Marq, De Pere
Jocelyn and Nick’s wedding was the first time we photographed a parent’s wedding (back when we were newbies) only to photograph their child’s wedding years later. Jocelyn and Nick are young but with that “old soul” feeling to them. They are kindhearted, gentle with one another, and always attuned and checking in.

Jocelyn has great taste and I just knew that her wedding would have lots of thoughtful little details and a sort of playfulness about the day. I loved the custom mints and the tree slice carved into a heart for the rings to rest in, but most of all I loved the simple embroidered Converse with “MRS” in the corner — sleek and modern.

This wedding was interesting from a photography perspective because their time for “posed photos” was sprinkled throughout the day instead of in one big block. Jocelyn and her bridesmaids got ready at the home of a family friend and Nick and his groomsmen got ready at Cobblestone Suites Hotel in De Pere.
Their first look took place at The Marq in the gazebo and had Nick in tears. We photographed candids then coordinated some of their couples portraits and group photos with bridal party before heading to the ceremony.

Jocelyn and Nick’s ceremony was held in the prettiest space for an outdoor summer wedding, located conveniently at the back of The Marq Banquet Center. Overhead there were lazy weeping willows and at the front of the ceremony space was a large pergola dressed in flowing drapery. It was lovely.
Following the ceremony we did family photos and a few more poses of the couple in the willows and along the cattails before heading in for dinner. Partway through the reception we popped out just in time for sunset to snag a few more intimate shots away from the bustle of the dance floor and close out the night at the party. Congratulations, Jocelyn and Nick!
